Join the MAPT Board

Each year during the annual Train the Trainer conference, the MAPT Board holds elections to fill positions that have expired their terms. This year, we'll be holding elections for five Board positions and electing one position that needs to replace a recently retired board member.

Here are the positions up for election in 2025:

  • President: Currently held by Nick Klaseus, Cleveland Schools

  • Vice-President: currently held by Tom Risley, Stillwater Area Schools

  • Treasurer: Currently held by BJ Ison, Anoka-Hennepin Schools

  • Region II Director: Currently vacant

  • Director at Large B (District operations): Currently held by Kala Henkensiefken, Bemidji Schools

  • Director at Large A (District operations): Currently vacant due to Jeff Kappers’ retirement

All positions are statewide positions except for Region II Director. The successful candidate will represent the southern tier of the state and must be from a school district in that region.

The candidate must be a current member of MAPT in good standing. Nominations will be open until TTT in July. Once the conference has begun, nominations will still be taken, but the candidate will need to be written in on the ballot.

Please submit a nomination form for yourself or a candidate for any of these positions (including the incumbent). Questions can be emailed to thomasjohn@district112.org
