Special Transportation Committee Meeting

• Kala passed around hand outs to review

1. Minutes from October meeting
2.  4150.0700(attached) -regarding WC tie down and removing devices. The question came up from inspectors about the removal of the devices. This was adopted from the National Standards. Kristin suggested driver should be positions for each chair as the size maybe different for each on. If there are not chair the driver should be removing devices. Dave suggested removal of #C.  Please review the Rule and email Duane your comments.
3. John Thomas shared with us that the 2010 National standards are still not out. When the 2010 Standards are out for Sped transportation this committee will review the stands to see if we want to recommend adopting anything.
4. Chassis and Body standard are adopted from the National Standards for Minnesota.
5. List of MN Dept of Ed training tapes; -attached. We will review one video each month for recommendation to keep in library of training videos. There is also a list of training videos listed in the Model Training manual. Ray has some video’s he will get for the group to review. The group discussed and decided to review all material available over the next few months. Renee Lehman will take charge of getting video’s and bringing to the meeting for us to watch and recommend to keep on the list or remove.
6. Question was asked if we have MAPT Driver Development series can we format into DVD. Ray answered this question that yes you can transfer into DVD format, per MAPT.
7. There may be an error in the Model school bus training manual in the sped section. We will be reviewing the model training. This will be used for this summer TTT and we want to make sure it is up to date.
8. Viewed the Tyler Video- this is a training video you can use for all staff- to order on line go to www.imtyler.org cost of DVD is donation.
9. A list of dates and locations was handed out, Kala has also sent onto MAPT to post on the website.
